What each document proves—and what it does not

Strong IP. Thin current-product validation.

The patented sludge process is real. The scientific founders are qualified. The public performance record is nevertheless narrow: one peer-reviewed paper on the historic product, unpublished regulator reports and no public result from the current-product farm program.

The intellectual property is genuine

Dates, ownership, claim scope and fee status are confirmed in Bulgarian Patent Office records and full publications.

Patent BG 67650

Process for obtaining plant biostimulant

  • Filed: 17 January 2020
  • Granted: 29 August 2024
  • Owner: Atlas Agro Science
  • Inventors: Diya Dermendzhieva and Georgi Beev
  • Active at cutoff; fees recorded through 17 January 2027

The claim centers on sewage-treatment sludge, high-pH alkaline processing, dilution, homogenization, controlled heat/time and organic-acid neutralization.

Utility model BG 4083

Liquid multicomponent biostimulant

  • Filed: 14 October 2020
  • Extended through: 14 October 2027
  • Owner and inventors match the patent

It claims the material itself and composition ranges around 0.82–1% total nitrogen, 0.02–0.03% P₂O₅, 0.2–0.3% K₂O, 53–54% organic matter and 35–37% humic acids.

What the IP establishes: ownership, inventors, priority, grant/registration, legal status and claim wording. It does not establish commercial manufacture, current-product identity, safety approval, customer demand or broad agronomic performance.

The one peer-reviewed crop paper

A 2025 Bulgarian Journal of Agricultural Science paper reports an oil-bearing rose experiment conducted in 2021–2022 with Atlas Universal.

Reported result—not a portfolio-wide conclusion

Variant I reported 27% more flower yield and 33% more oil yield than control.

That is a publishable positive signal for the tested historical formulation in the reported setting. It is not evidence that Terra, Nitro or Amino will deliver those effects.

DimensionWhat the paper providesLimitation
DesignTwo seasons, field comparison, control plus treatment variants. One location; five plants per variant are described.
ProductAtlas Universal with a reported analytical composition.Historic product, not the current registered Terra family.
OutcomesFlower yield, oil yield and economic calculations. No independent multi-site replication found.
AuthorshipIncludes subject-matter scientists.Coauthor Dermendzhieva was an inventor and 10% shareholder.
DisclosureThe paper declares no competing interests and no funding. The ownership/inventor relationship is not disclosed, making the declaration materially incomplete.
Formulation consistencyPaper reports N 6.159% w/v, P₂O₅ 1.712%, K₂O 0.1245% and humic acids 35.1%.Nitrogen and phosphorus do not fit the utility-model ranges; no public source resolves reformulation, basis or transcription.

Evidence available for current products

The public chain stops before independently assessable results.

Terra

Registration orders

Composition and use are documented. The 2025 amendment says field reports were submitted in support of lower doses.

Regulatory record Reports unpublished

Terra

EIT Food Test Farms 2025

Official selection confirms third-party program acceptance and intended on-farm validation. No Atlas-specific protocol, data table, presentation or final outcome was found.

Selected No public result

Nitro

Current performance studies

No peer-reviewed or independent public current-formulation trial was found.

Not public

Amino

Current performance studies

No peer-reviewed or independent public current-formulation trial was found.

Not public

Public proof by claim type

“Not established publicly” leaves open the possibility of private data. It prevents those claims from being presented here as fact.

Patent and utility model exist and are active.Direct Patent Office records and full publications.High
Current products may be marketed in Bulgaria under the listed orders.Signed product orders and current register references.High
Historic Atlas Universal improved rose outcomes in one setting. One peer-reviewed, narrow, company-connected study.Moderate
Current Terra works across crops and farms.Program selection and unpublished report references.Low public proof

Using them automatically qualifies a farm for an eco-scheme.Broad marketing interpretation, not a product-specific entitlement decision.Unproven

What would materially change the assessment

More awards or general sustainability articles would not close the core gaps. These documents would.

  1. 1. Current-product trials

Predefined protocols, credible comparators, multiple sites and seasons, complete data, statistical analysis and crop-specific conclusions.

  2. 2. Independent replication

Work conducted or audited by researchers without equity, inventor or supplier interests, with those interests explicitly disclosed.

  3. 3. Batch evidence

Certificates of analysis, contaminant and microbiological tests, stability/shelf-life files and quality-control procedures.

  4. 4. Technical bridge

A manufacturing flow and claim chart connecting—or deliberately separating—the current formulations and the sludge IP.

  5. 5. Farm-program outcome

The Atlas-specific Test Farms report and the field reports referenced in the 2025 Terra amendment.
